I am very excited to have curated an exhibition at One Mile Gallery in Kingston, NY titled HAUNTED SUMMER and featuring artists Sarah Gamble, Roxanne Jackson, Amanda Lechner, Mollie McKinley, Amanda Nedham, and Andrea Mihalovic as well as my own work. Opens Saturday, June 13th!
In the tradition of summer-camp slasher films and summer vacations to cabins in the woods, Haunted Summer will feature six female artists whose work explore fear, the paranormal, horror and occult ritual. Haunted Summer is also the title of a soft-focused, late 1980s film based upon an actual summer spent together by Lord Byron, Mary Shelley and Percy Shelley. Between drugs, sex and mind games the poets devise a contest for who can write the best horror story- the winning story being the creation of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein. Haunted Summer features seven artists, each creating their own narratives surrounding fear and the unknown.
